Using the Direct Reduced Iron Charge
Using the direct reduced iron, also known as sponge Iron, or briquette in the arc furnace can cause specific effects on the process of melting. Energy consumption, using or the capability to produce and efficiency of the materials results from the DRI chemical compound and the percent used in charging.
Sponge iron is used as the replacement for the scraper and due to its approximately integrated chemical compound, it is used to reduce the concentration of the impurity elements and the sediments in fusionn through increasing iron grade in charging.
In fact, by charging sponge iron in the iron scraper portfolio, the level of impurity in charging decreases and it causes the reduction of the value of nitrogen in fusionn.
Reduction of the nitrogen in fusion enables producing high-quality slabs and billets for manufacturing hot sheets, wire, and other products.
